  • The RadWaste, or Radioactive Waste Site identification Project, is a Department of Industry (D.o.I.) project, with the objective of locating and securing a national storage site suitable for the long-term storage of low-level and medium-level radioactive waste. The Radioactive Waste Site identification Application allows users to locate and geospatially identify the land they wish to nominate for assessment and then capture the location coordinates. The application no longer includes any system smarts such as weightings and suitability rankings or reporting functionality. The RadWaste applications are based upon the existing CIAP application framework and architecture.

  • The Australian Fiducial Network (AFN) consists of eight permanent, continuously operating, Geodetic GPS receivers on the Australian mainland and Tasmania. The network was initially observed during the International GPS Service for Geodynamics (IGS) Epoch '92 campaign, July-August, 1992. The AFN, in conjunction with additional sites beyond the Australian mainland, forms the Australian Regional GPS Network (ARGN).

  • RICS (Rapid Inventory Collection System) is a vehicular data collection system. It collects geo-tagged imagery and user added property damage-level information. The system consists of Ethernet cameras, tripods, circuitry and the RICS software that runs on a laptop. It was successfully deployed following the 2009 Victorian Bushfires, the 2010 Kalgoorlie and Christchurch Earthquakes, the 2011 Brisbane floods and TC Yassi.

  • Compute Moonrise and Moonset Times To use this facility you need to know the latitude and longitude of the location you want to calculate rise and set times for. There are several ways you can determine this:

  • The earthquake mapping tool allows you to: * view recent earthquakes which occurred over the past 30 days * search and explore all Australian earthquakes * search and explore earthquakes worldwide * view seismograms of earthquakes over the past 90 days * advise Geoscience Australia when you have felt a recent earthquake.

  • iTimewalk App Software

  • This software package is used to produce Bushfire Attack Level (BAL), a measure of the severity of a building's potential exposure to bushfire, based on Method 1 in Australian Standard AS 3959 (2009)--Construction of buildings in bushfire-prone areas.

  • Upgrade for software package for geochemical modelling released in 1999. Available from OEMD on request to Evgeniy Bastrakov (a password is set for a particular user).
