  • The Tsunami Data Access Tool (Tsu-DAT) is intended for use by the emergency management community to understand the offshore tsunami hazard for areas of interest around Australia and to access the large database of tsunami waveforms to generate the required input to a detailed tsunami impact assessment for a given community. The offshore tsunami hazard and resultant waveforms are a result of the probabilistic tsunami hazard assessment (PTHA) of Australia (Burbidge2008a). This assessment modelled thousands of synthetic tsunami to estimate the likelihood of a tsunami wave of a given amplitude occurring at an offshore location, defined at the 100 m depth contour. A database of tsunami waveforms at points along the 100 m depth contour around the Australian coast was created. The Tsu-DAT allows users to search this database and extract tsunami waveforms for events of interest. These waveforms are in a format that can be used to drive more detailed models of tsunami inundation and impact for communities of interest.

  • From 1995 to 2000 information from the federal and state governments was compiled for Comprehensive Regional Assessments (CRA), which formed the basis for Regional Forest Agreements (RFA) that identified areas for conservation to meet targets agreed by the Commonwealth Government with the United Nations. This CD was created as part of GA's contribution to the Central Highlands CRA. It contains final versions of all data coverages and shapefiles used in the project, Published Graphics files in ArcInfo (.gra), postscript (.ps) and Web ready (.gif) formats, all Geophysical Images and Landsat data and final versions of documents provided for publishing.

  • This data set comprises one of three archives of Geoscience Australia work in the project "A Consistent Approach to Groundwater Recharge Determination in Data Poor Areas". The project was carried out by CSIRO and Geoscience Australia and was funded by the National Water Commission Raising National Water Standards program.   • This folder contains the work related to Climate Future Tasmania project including hazard, risk calculation, standalone tool, management and reports etc.

  • This data package was preduced in response to a request by Rodney King from Teck Australia for a compilation of GA borehole datasets from the Isa Superbasin, in particular for gamma-ray data. The data set includes drill hole/section location information, and lithological, geochemical and gamma ray data. All data were extracted from GA databases.

  • This product is the single largest AGSO funded stream sediment geochemical data set available in Australia. The data covers roughly 80 000 square kilometres of Proterozoic and Phanerozoic north Queensland and contains 235 914 analyses of 8752 samples. This product also includes PDF files of the associated reports and atlases.

CD2 contains the DEFUNCT directories, data that has been modified or replaced in the final version. CD3 contains the INTEGRTN directory, integration data used for evaluating options.

  • Airborne Electromagnetic data are being acquired by Geoscience Australia in areas considered to have potential for uranium or thorium mineralisation under the Australian Government's Onshore Energy Security Program (OESP). The surveys have been managed and interpreted by Geoscience Australia's Airborne Electromagnetic Acquisition and Interpretation project. In contrast to industry style deposit scale investigations, these surveys are designed to reveal new geological information at regional scale. The Paterson airborne electromagnetic data were acquired at line spacings of between one and six kilometres, a total of 28 200 line km and covers an area of 47 600 km<sup>2</sup>. The outcomes of the Paterson AEM survey include mapping of subsurface geological features that are associated with unconformity-related, sandstone-hosted and palaeovalley-hosted uranium mineralisation. The data are also capable of interpretation for other commodities including metals and potable water as well as for landscape evolution studies. The improved understanding of the regional geology resulting from the Paterson survey results will be of considerable benefit to mining and mineral exploration companies. This Data Package is for Archive to the internal area of the CDS and contains all data, grids, images, mxd, shape files, documentation, licenses, agreements, interpretations and scripts used to create the Paterson deliverables. At the projects completion (2012) all directories are required to be moved off the NAS. The reason to keep all the files is that more work is to be done on this data in the 2012-2015 period and these files may be needed in this future work.
