  • This dataset contains waveforms and metadata from 5 temporary deployment seismometers and accelerometers stations following the Lake Muir 5.7 magnitude earthquake, WA, on the 16th September 2018. Data extends from 17th Sept 2018 to the 16th Nov 2018. Waveforms are in miniseed format with Metadata in xml format. Individual station datasets are labelled on station codes: LM01 through LM05.

  • This 12-page teacher guide is intended for upper primary teachers but may also be useful in secondary classrooms as well. The guide explains how to set up a micro:bit (tiny inexpensive computer) as a mini seismometer that will detect shaking, and how to collect and display the data. The guide also includes classroom-ready activities on how to introduce and explore vibrations and earthquake monitoring.

  • This animation shows how passive seismic surveys Work. It is part of a series of Field Activity Technique Engagement Animations. The target audience are the communities that are impacted by our data acquisition activities. There is no sound or voice over. The 2D animation includes a simplified view of what passive seismic equipment looks like, what the equipment measures and how the survey works.
