• This short movie tells the story of the making of the Radiometric Map of Australia. Scientists at Geoscience Australia have, for the first time, been able to produce a map of Australia showing the distribution of the radioactive elements Potassium, Uranium and Thorium across the continent using airborne geophysical data that have taken over 30 years to acquire. This movie explores the questions: What have we done that is special; Why is it special; How did it all start - history; What is gamma-ray spectrometry; What was the problem encountered and how was it solved; Who uses the map. Flash movie is 17.7MB, 5 Minutes.

 • Captured historical footage

 • Footage of Geosience Australia's SHRIMP and Mineral Separation Laboratory. Flash movie is 9.7MB, 3 Minutes.

 • This movie captured the presentation of the new Data and Discovery tool called NaviGAtor

 • The Himawari-8 hotspot video represents 12 hours of observations comparing existing MODIS data with the new Himawari-8 data. A small fire starts at 9.30am. H8 catches the ignition as it provides 10 minute update intervals. MODIS sees the fire during its first pass at 10.30am. H8 continues to provide 10minute updates revealing the fires direction and speed. MODIS provides no further data until its second pass at 4.30pm.

 • The movie describes the marine reconnaisance and seismic surveys undertaken between November 2008 and February 2009 as part of the South-West Margin Project. This is part of the broader part of the Energy Security Program. Video and still images from the marine reconnaisance and seismic surveys. Seismic cross-sections. Bathymetric flythroughs

 • In 2005 Geoscience Australia conducted a survey in the Northern Arafura Basin region. This movie, transcribed from a slide presentation, tells the story of the three main survey ares.

 • All material used in the Acreage Release Arafura movie is re-used here. Also added is a new GIS image. No music required by client.
