This service is produced specifically for the Northern Australia Project and may be removed or changes without notice. This web service shows land tenure in Western Australia and Queensland north of the Tropic of Capricorn and the whole of Northern Territory. This service uses PSMA 2015 land tenure data for Western Australia, and PSMA August 2016 for Northern Territory and Queensland.

This service delivers data from Geoscience Australia's Petroleum Systems database, a compilation of information from summary reports on petroleum systems by basin across Australia, integrated with data from other Geoscience Australia databases including provinces, stratigraphy and boreholes. The data provided by this service is intended for use in the Petroleum Systems Summary tool on the Geoscience Australia Portal. The tool's aim is to provide high-level information of the current understanding of key petroleum systems for areas of interest and assist geological studies by summarising and interpreting key datasets related to conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon exploration. Each petroleum systems summary includes a synopsis of the basin and key figures detailing the basin outline, major structural components, data availability, petroleum systems events chart and stratigraphy, and a précis of the key elements of source, reservoir and seal.

The Seas and Submerged Lands Act (SSLA) 1973 is the Australian legislation that provides the domestic legal framework for Australia to declare its international offshore maritime zones, as provided for by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) to which Australia is a party. Proclamations under the SSLA establish the territorial sea baseline, the territorial sea, the contiguous zone, the exclusive economic zone and the continental shelf. This service depicts official spatial representation of these proclamations. The service includes feature layers: Normal and Straight baselines limits and locations; Contiguous Zone and limit; Territorial Sea Zone and limit; Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), limits and locations; Continental Shelf limit and locations.

OPGGSA 2006 - Petroleum Blocks. This service displays the most recent realisation of the Petroleum Blocks as defined under Section 33 (3) of the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 (OPGGSA 2006) as realised in GDA94. Block data extends beyond the area of operation of the OPGGSA and includes areas of coastal waters and land within the constitutional limits of the States and Territories.

This web service provides access to satellite imagery products for the identification of potential groundwater dependent ecosystems (GDEs) in the South Nicholson - Georgina region.

This service delivers the base of Cenozoic surface and Cenozoic thickness grids for the west Musgrave province. The gridded data are a product of 3D palaeovalley modelling based on airborne electromagnetic conductivity, borehole and geological outcrop data, carried out as part of Geoscience Australia's Exploring for the Future programme. The West Musgrave 3D palaeovalley model report and data files are available at https://dx.doi.org/10.26186/149152.

This OGC compliant service provides access to magnetotelluric data and associated products, which have been produced by Geoscience Australia’s Magnetotelluric Program. This program includes regional magnetotelluric projects and the Australian Lithospheric Architecture Magnetotelluric Project (AusLAMP), a collaborative project between Geoscience Australia, the State and Northern Territory geological surveys, universities, and other research organisations. The data provided in this service comprise resistivity model depth sections and the locations of sites used in these studies.

The service includes an outline of the Australian shoreline. The information was derived from the Geodata 3 Topographic 250K 2007 data, with a nominal scale of 1:250,000. It is a cached service with a Web Mercator Projection.
-
The Land Cover map service includes information derived from the Dynamic Land Cover Dataset (2000-2008) containing Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) information. The service provides a base-line for identifying and reporting on change and trends in vegetation cover and extent. It is a cached service with a Web Mercator Projection.

This OGC conformant web service delivers data from Geoscience Australia's Boreholes database (borehole header and directional survey data) and associated geological observations (lithostratigraphic data). The data includes records of boreholes drilled by Geoscience Australia and its predecessor organisations (BMR, AGSO), all boreholes drilled in Australian Commonwealth offshore marine jurisdictions, and a selection of onshore boreholes drilled by government and private entities. Where possible this service conforms to the GeoSciML v4.1 data transfer standard. Geoscience Australia is not a reporting or regulatory authority for borehole drilling. Borehole information in Geoscience Australia's Boreholes database is sourced from various regulatory authorities in the States, Northern Territory and Commonwealth governments for Geoscience Australia research purposes. Where Geoscience Australia is not the custodian of borehole data provided in this web service, the custodian agency provided with the data should be consulted as the authoritative source. The data dictionary for this web service is at https://d28rz98at9flks.cloudfront.net/144578/144578_00_3.pdf.
