It provides seamless topographic greyscale mapping for the whole of Australia, including the external territories of Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Christmas Island, Norfolk Island and Lord Howe Island. The service consists of Geoscience Australia data at smaller scales and OpenStreetMap data is used at larger scales. The service contains layer scale dependencies.

  • The Australian Topographic base map service is seamless national dataset coverage for the whole of Australia. The map is a representation of the Geoscience Australia 250k topographic specification and portrays a detailed graphic representation of features that appear on the Earth's surface. These features include cultural, hydrography and relief themes. The service contains layer scale dependencies.

  • The service includes an outline of the Australian shoreline. The information was derived from the Geodata 3 Topographic 250K 2007 data, with a nominal scale of 1:250,000. It is a cached service with a Web Mercator Projection.

  • This service provides access to airborne electromagnetics (AEM) derived conductivity grids in the Upper Darling Floodplain region. The grids represent 30 depth intervals from modelling of AEM data acquired in the Upper Darling Floodplain, New South Wales, Airborne Electromagnetic Survey (https://dx.doi.org/10.26186/147267), an Exploring for the Future (EFTF) project jointly funded by Geoscience Australia and New South Wales Department of Planning and Environment (NSW DPE). The AEM conductivity model delineates important subsurface features for assessing the groundwater system including lithological boundaries, palaeovalleys and hydrostatigraphy.

  • This web service provides access to satellite imagery products for the identification of potential groundwater dependent ecosystems (GDEs) in the South Nicholson - Georgina region.

  • The Surface Geology web map service provides two seamless national coverages of Australian bedrock and surficial geology, compiled at 1:1 million scale (displays only at scales less than 1:1500000), and 1:2.5 million scale (displays only at scales greater than 1:1500000). It also contains 1:5 million scale geological regions and metamorphic geology. The service represents outcropping or near-outcropping bedrock units, and unconsolidated or poorly consolidated regolith material covering bedrock.

  • This service provides Australian surface hydrology, including natural and man-made features such as water courses (including directional flow paths), lakes, dams and other water bodies. The information was derived from the Surface Hydrology database, with a nominal scale of 1:250,000. The service contains layer scale dependencies.
