  • This USB has been produced for promotional puposes and will be handed out (free) at domestic and international conferences. The USB contains a selection of reports, flyers, maps and data. Products are grouped into 4 categories: Records and Brochures, Mineral Deposits, Geophysical Data and Surface Geology.

  • Australia's government geoscience agencies work together as Australia Minerals to connect people, information and innovation to opportunities that give investors the confidence to invest in mineral exploration in Australia. This USB has been produced as a giveaway at international conferences and events attended by Australia Minerals (AM). This USB contains electronic material from each of the States and the NT grouped under the themes: Publications, Guides, Infrastructure, Maps, Mineral Resources Information, and Projects and Exploration. This version was produced for the Prospectors and Developers Convention, to be held from 5-8 March 2017.

  • Promotional flyer for conferences describing Geoscience Australia's seabed mapping capabilities and work programs.

  • Promotional flyer for AMSA 2015 conference describing Geoscience Australia's seabed mapping capabilities and marine work programs (Not for general release). Content of flyer as follows: Geoscience Australia provides geoscientific information and knowledge for the economic, social and environmental benefit of all Australians. Geoscience Australia (GA) maintains a marine science and data acquisition capability which supports the Commonwealth in addressing challenges facing Australia. GA provides marine geological and environmental advice and information to support Government planning in areas such as sustainable development of offshore resources, assessment and management of natural disasters, and policy for Australia's coastal zone, the offshore marine estate and the Australian Antarctic Territory. GA maintains a national archive of publicly available physical marine datasets and value added products including maps, techniques, models and predictions, ensuring valuable information is preserved and available to enable future science. GA data products and scientific expertise cover areas of: - bathymetry and seabed hardness - marine geomorphology and geology - seabed sediments and geochemistry - seabed habitats and marine biodiversity - shallow water bathymetry and coastal mapping using satellite data. Current work is contributing directly to programs including: - National Environmental Science Programme, Marine Biodiversity Hub - seabed mapping around Casey Station, Antarctica - INPEX environmental offset program, Northern Australia - Australian Government search for MH370 - Australian Government Offshore Petroleum and CO2 storage acreage release and promotion. Ongoing work contributes to: - Australian Government release and promotion of offshore petroleum and greenhouse gas acreage - information to support decision making on offshore resource competition issues - statistical techniques to extract value from sparse regional and national environmental data - marine data preservation and access to develop national baselines and enable Australian science - change detection from analysis of satellite time series data using the `Data Cube' hosted at the National Computational Infrastructure. Further information about GA's marine activities can be found on our webpage www.ga.gov.au/about/what-we-do/projects/marine Publications can be found at www.ga.gov.au/data-pubs

Content of flyer as follows: Geoscience Australia Coastal, Marine and Antarctic Geoscience Geoscience Australia provides geoscientific information and knowledge for the economic, social and environmental benefit of all Australians. The marine group in the Environmental Geoscience Division provides geoscientific information to support decision making across a range of natural resource and environmental issues in the coastal zone, the offshore marine estate and the Australian Antarctic Territory. The group also provides pre-competitive advice on offshore resources including the preparation of seabed environmental summaries for future acreage release areas and seabed mapping surveys in areas of planned offshore infrastructure development. Outputs include technical advice to Government on marine, coastal and Antarctic matters, as well as spatial data, maps, models and predictions of: marine geomorphology and geology seabed sediments and geochemistry seabed habitats and biodiversity marine ecosystem processes Current work is contributing to programs including: The search for MH370: Bathymetric Survey Casey Station Seabed Mapping Survey, Antarctic National Environmental Science Programme, Marine Biodiversity Hub Darwin Harbour Seabed Mapping National CO2 Infrastructure Plan Further information about the group's activities can be found on our webpage http://www.ga.gov.au/about/what-we-do/projects/marine Publications can be found at http://www.ga.gov.au/data-pubs

  • Geoscience Australia conducts applied research within the Australian Antarctic Territory and adjacent marine jurisdictions. This research supports Geoscience Australia's strategic objectives and the Australian Antarctic Science Strategic Plan, as well as providing quality advice to Government. Our research underpins development of appropriate environmental management strategies for a range of marine and terrestrial environments. Our work supports the Australian Government's national interests in the Antarctic and commitment to the Antarctic Treaty System.
