The data are visualised in the Geoscience Australia 3D Data Viewer software and the intention is to give users a rich environment to explore diverse geological data. Geoscience Australia has collated these datasets from a wide range of sources. Copyright in all content on the DVD remains with the originating organisations and individuals, and may not be reproduced without permission. Description. - Tropical Cyclone Alby passed close to the southwest corner of West Australia on April 4th 1978. Large waves and a storm surge generated by the northerly winds caused substantial coastal erosion along the Lower West coast particularly in the Geographe Bay area. Low-lying areas at Bunbury and Busselton were flooded, forcing the evacuation of many homes including the Bunbury Nursing Home. An approximate 1.1 m storm surge at Busselton caused the tide to peak at 2.5 m about 1 m above the highest astronomical tide. The Busselton Jetty was severely damaged. At Fremantle the surge was about 0.6 m causing a high tide of 1.8 m, about 0.5 m above the highest astronomical tide. A short animation of an atmospheric simulation of methane emissions from a coal mine (produced using TAPM) compared to actual methane concentrations detected by the Atmospheric Monitoring Station, Arcturus in Central Queensland. It illustrates the effectiveness of both the detection and simulation techniques in the monitoring of atmospheric methane emissions. The animation shows a moving trace of both the simulated and actual recorded emissions data, along with windspeed and direction indicators. Some data provided by CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research.

It is a promotional movie that demonstrates NEXIS capabilities, and explains how NEXIS will be benefitial to the NEXIS stakeholder. This movie may also go onto the web, where it's purpose is to convince the public that NEXIS is a worthwhile investment in Australia's future.

This is a 3 minute movie (with production music), to be played in the background during the October 28th 2010 Geoscience Australia Parlimentary Breakfast. The video shows a wide range of the types of activities that GA is involved in. These images include GA people doing GA activities as well as some of the results of offshore surveys; continental mapping; eath monitoring etc. The movie will be played as a background before and after GA's CEO (Chris Pigram) presentation.
