  • The Blackall Airborne Gravity Gradiometer (AGG) survey of Central Queensland was flown between March 11th to 6th April 2024. Contracted to Xcalibur Smart Mapping, Geoscience Australia undertook the project management, contract management and quality control on behalf of the Geological Survey of Queensland. The located data, gridded data and quality control reports are contained within this record. Survey area was centered on longitude 147° 21’ E and latitude 25° 16’ S to the south of Blackall. A total of 34 production flights were flown for a combined total of 15,705.4 line kilometres of data and acquired on 1000 m line spacing at 100 m nominal terrain clearance. Quality control was performed by airborne gravity consultant Dr Mark Dransfield on behalf of Geoscience Australia, with his report included here. The survey was designed to supplement the regional legacy ground gravity data and improve the definition of gravimetric anomalies in the region. In addition, the AGG survey will provide better understanding of the cover sequence thickness and characteristics of the underlying basement geology.   • <div>Sander Geophysics Limited (SGL) conducted a fixed-wing high resolution gravimetric survey in the East Kimberley area of the state of Western Australia for Geoscience Australia. A total of 37,806 line kilometres of airborne gravity data were acquired using </div><div>SGL’s airborne gravity system, Airborne Inertially Referenced Gravimeter (AIRGrav).   • <div>Sander Geophysics Limited (SGL) conducted a fixed-wing high resolution airborne gravimetric survey over two survey blocks, Pilbara Northwest and Pilbara Southeast in Northwestern Australia for Geoscience Australia and its partner the Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA). </div><div>The traverse lines were oriented east-west in the Pilbara Northwest block and north-south in the Pilbara Southeast block and spaced at 2500 m. A limited number of control lines flown exclusively in the Pilbara Northwest block were oriented north-south and spaced at 50,000 m. A drape surface was created taking into account the terrain and the performance of the aircraft at the expected altitudes and estimated temperatures.   • <div>The Tanami–King Leopold survey was part of a collaborative research project between Geoscience Australia (GA) and the Geological Survey of Western Australia. Gravity data was collected at 5 km wavelength resolution with the purpose to help characterise key undercover geological elements of the region. The project area extends approximately from the Balgo Hills region near the border with the Northern Territory through to Derby in the west. The survey was conducted by Thomson Aviation Pty Ltd with a GT-2A gravimeter and managed by GA.   • CGG Aviation (now Xcalibur Multiphysics) collected airborne gravity data in the Kidson area covering parts of the Gibson and Great Sandy Deserts in central Western Australia as part of a collaborative project between Geoscience Australia (GA) and the Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA). The aim of the project was to collect airborne gravity gradiometry data in the region at 2500 m wavelength resolution to help characterise key undercover geological elements of the region. The survey consisted of a Main block and an Extension block. Data were acquired from North/South flight lines (Main block) and East-West flight lines (Extension block) with an average target ground clearance of 120m. Tie lines at 25,000m line spacing were flown only for the Main block.   • <div>In 2018, Sander Geophysics Limited (SGL) conducted six fixed-wing high-resolution gravimetric surveys for Geoscience Australia and the Geological Survey of Western Australia.&nbsp;Over two hundred flights were flown to complete the planned 175,825 line kilometres, with five blocks acquired within 800 km to the northeast of Laverton and one block within 500 km to the west of Kununurra (Kimberley Basin block).
