This service provides header and observation data for gravity stations located throughout continental Australia and Remote Offshore Territories. Data sources include the Australian National Gravity Database (ANGD) and the Australian Fundamental Gravity Network (AFGN) maintained by Geoscience Australia (GA). Data has been obtained by Surveyors, Commonwealth and state/territory Governments, private companies, and educational institutions. Gravity data measures small changes in gravity due to changes in the density of rocks beneath the Earth's surface. The data collected are processed via standard methods to ensure the response recorded is that due only to the rocks in the ground. The results produce datasets that can be interpreted to reveal the geological structure of the sub-surface. The processed data is checked for quality by GA geophysicists to ensure that the final data released by GA are fit-for-purpose.

This Hub contains information, resources and discovery of Commonwealth Historical Aerial Photography across Australia. Geoscience Australia has developed the Historical Aerial Photography (HAP) collection in an online data delivery system. Using the application, uses can search and download the commonwealth photography collection for free. The hub demonstrates the breadth of the collection and showcases the efforts in collecting and curating an extensive physical collection of film and documents. Geoscience Australia has the most extensive historical aerial photography collection in terms of land coverage and time (from 1928-1996). This online catalogue provides means of easy search of the collection records. The mapping system allows users to understand what information is available and, if digitised, to preview and download the image data. The application contains a map which users can search areas, current location or an area of interest, as well as customize the search criteria (date range, film number etc). The search results list the available aerial photography or flight line diagram, and if is available for direct download for free.

The Australian National Gravity Database (ANGD) contains data from gravity surveys conducted throughout Australia, most of which are available to the public. This dataset contains original survey data, operations reports, QA/QC notes, grids, and ancillary data for quality assurance, maintenance. New data will be made available once undergoing appropriate checks.

Mapped and projected extents of geology and geologic features in Australia, including: surface geology, regolith geology, solid geology, chronostratigraphic surfaces, and province boundaries. The database includes igneous, sedimentary and structural characteristics, age limits, parent and constituent units, relations to surrounding provinces, and mineral and petroleum resources. based on field observations interpretations of geophysics and borehole data. Value: Data used for understanding surface and near surface geology. The data can be used for a variety of purposes, including resource exploration, land use management, and environmental assessment. Scope: Australia and Australian Antarctic Territory
