Between 11th April and 1st July 1967 a ground survey party of the Bureau of Mineral Resources inspected a number of abandoned airfields in the Gr~t Victoria Desert, the Gibson Desert, and the Great Sandy Desert for their suitability as Isogal stations in the extension to the west coast of Isogal flight-lines EW7A, EW5A, and EW4.A. For the same reason a number of homestead airfields were visited between Anna Plains and Hamelin Pool in Western Australia. Two authorised landing areas (Warri and Lake Yeo) were constructed in areas where no airstrip existed. Iosgal groundwork was prepared on twenty-nine airfields.
