The King Island North, Bass Strait, bathymetry survey was acquired for the Australian Hydrographic Office (AHO) onboard the M/V Pacific Quest during the period 28 January to 6 May 2021. This was a contracted survey conducted as part of the HydroScheme Industry Partnership Program (HIPP). The survey area encompasses a region located north of King Island in Bass Strait, including the approaches to Phoques Bay, located at the NW extremity of King Island. Bathymetry data was acquired using a Kongsberg EM2040D and processed using QPS Qimera V2.0.1. The dataset was then exported to GeoTIFF using CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. This dataset contains a 30m-resolution 32-bit floating point GeoTIFF file of the bathymetry in the survey area. This dataset is not to be used for navigational purposes.

The RS9401 bathymetry survey, GA0124 was acquired by Geoscience Australia onboard the Australian vessel Rig Seismic from the 12th of January to the 16th of February 1994 using an MR1 (12 kHz) towed sidescan sonar system. The objectives of the RS9401 bathymetry survey was to collect new data in order to update our understanding of the Macquarie Ridge Complex (MRC), located at the boundary between the Pacific and Australian plates. The survey acquired Sidescan/ bathymetry, gravity and 96- channel seismic reflection imaging across the morphologic ridge and trench system. Gravity and magnetic data were collected during the entire survey. This V0 dataset contains three, 128 m resolution 32-bit geotiff of the Macquarie Ridge survey area produced from the processed MR1 bathymetry data. This resource includes bathymetry data acquired during the Raine Island bathymetry survey using Kongsberg EM302 and EM710 multibeam sonar systems. The Raine Island bathymetry survey (FK210321/GA4873); also known as Brisbane to Darwin transit survey; was led by James Cook University aboard the Schmidt Ocean Institute's research vessel Falkor from the 21st of March to the 4th of April 2021. The primary objective of the expedition was to transit from Brisbane to Darwin. Another objective was to map underwater landscapes in the north of the Coral Sea around Raine Island and the Pandora Entrance. This V1 dataset contains twelve 2m to 64m resolution 32-bit floating point geotiff files of the new Raine Island bathymetry, derived from the processed EM302 and EM710 bathymetry data, using CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. The Southeast Tasmania and Southern Macquarie Ridge Bathymetry dataset was acquired by the Australian Geological Survey Organisation (AGSO) (Geoscience Australia predecessor) during the AUSTREA-2 marine survey undertaken from 15 January - 9 February 2000 onboard the French Oceanographic and Geoscience Research Vessel N/O L'Atalante using a Simrad EM12D multibeam sonar system. The survey was completed as part of the work to map the foot-of-slope position to support definition of Australia's legal Continental Shelf under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. This dataset contains 120m-, 160m-, 250m-, 280m-, 300m-, 360m- and 440m-resolution 32-bit floating point GeoTIFF files of the bathymetry in the survey area, derived from the processed EM12D bathymetry data, using CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. This dataset is not to be used for navigational purposes.

The Port Fairy to Portland bathymetry survey was acquired by Deakin University Marine Mapping lab onboard the M/V Yolla over 6 days in 2020 using a Kongsberg EM2040C. This survey was part of the Victorian Coastal Monitoring Program, which requires bathymetry data to understand offshore sediment dynamics within Victorian coastal waters. This dataset contains a 2m-resolution 32-bit floating point GeoTIFF file of the bathymetry in the study area, derived from the bathymetry data processed using CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. This dataset is not to be used for navigational purposes.

The Wilsons Promontory bathymetry survey was acquired by Deakin University Marine Mapping lab onboard the M/V Yolla from 9 – 18 April and 27 May to 10 June 2013 using a Kongsberg EM2040c. This survey was part of a Parks Victoria project to better understand the habitats and associated biodiversity of Wilsons Promontory Marine National Park. The survey was led by Dr. Daniel Ierodiaconou (Deakin University). This dataset contains a 2.5m-resolution 32-bit floating point GeoTIFF file of the bathymetry in the study area, derived from the processed EM2040C bathymetry data, using CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. This resource includes bathymetry data acquired during a transit from Sydney to Albany using a Kongsberg EM302 multibeam sonar system. The transit (FK200110/GA4864) was undertaken by the Schmidt Ocean Institute, using research vessel Falkor, from the 10th of January to the 18th of January 2020. The primary objective of the transit was to reach the Bremer Canyon survey area. This V1 dataset contains three 16m to 64m resolution 32-bit floating point geotiff files of the bathymetry data collected on the transit, derived from the processed EM302 bathymetry data, using CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. This resource includes bathymetry data acquired during the Tasman and Coral Seas survey using Kongsberg EM302 and EM710 multibeam sonar systems. The Tasman and Coral Seas bathymetry survey (FK201228/GA4868); also known as Pinging in the New Year: Mapping the Tasman and Coral Seas survey; was led by James Cook University and University of Queensland aboard the Schmidt Ocean Institute's research vessel Falkor from the 28th of December to the 25th of January 2021. The primary objective of the expedition was to map the seabed of the target area in the Tasman and Coral Seas that will support ocean research, management and sustainable economic development. Bathymetric maps are especially valuable for geoscience research, as the shape of the seafloor holds information about the tectonic movement and the formation of the Australian continent. Another objective was to survey seabirds, which are important indicators of ocean health and the data collected from the expedition are vital for informing management of the Coral Sea Marine Park. This V1 dataset contains one 64m resolution 32-bit floating point geotiff files of the Tasman and Coral Seas bathymetry survey area, derived from the processed EM302 and EM710 bathymetry data, using CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. The Approaches to Darwin, Beagle Gulf bathymetry survey was acquired for the Australian Hydrographic Office (AHO) onboard the M/V Limitless and PHS Zephyr during the period 26 June – 30 August 2020. This was a contracted survey conducted as part of the HydroScheme Industry Partnership Program (HIPP). The survey area lies North-West of Cox Peninsula, encompassing South Gutter and is bounded by North Gutter, Fenton Patches and Fish Reef. Bathymetry data was acquired using a Kongsberg R2Sonic 2026 and R2Sonic 2024 and processed using QPS Qimera V2.0.1. The dataset was then exported to GeoTIFF using CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. This dataset contains a 30m-resolution 32-bit floating point GeoTIFF file. This dataset is not to be used for navigation.
