Abstract

This metadata encompasses the "wells" directory of the CD-ROM which contains the file wells.shp. This dataset contains petroleum exploration and development wells drilled in the Otway Basin region (see GEOGRAPHIC BOUNDING BOX) taken from Geoscience Australia's database called 'PEDIN'.

This data was initially extracted from Well Completion Reports and other scouting methods, it was then loaded into the Oracle database 'PEDIN' by Geoscience Australia staff. Point data was exported from the Geoscience Australia Oracle database and then imported into ARCVIEW as a shape file.
