This service contains the topographic map indexes of 1:1 Million, 1:250,000 and 1:100,000 scale maps available from Geoscience Australia. These indexes drive the online topographic map index dashboards and contain value-add attributes, including a link to download the map. There are two 1:250,000 layers in the index; one layer which represents the new 1:250,000 AUSTopo Australian Digital Map Series index and one layer which represents the existing 1:250,000 scale index. The datasets for the 1:1 Million, 1:100,000 and existing 1:250,000 scale maps can be found in the eCat record 145830. The dataset for the 1:250,000 AUSTopo Australian Digital Topographic Map Series can be found in the eCat record 148692.

Digital data is provided for the indexes of: - 1:100,000 scale topographic maps - 1:250,000 scale topographic maps - 1:1,000,000 scale General Reference maps These indexes are those used in the online map index dashboards and web maps. They contain value-add attributes, including map number, map name, map title, year published, the latitude and longitude of the extents of the maps sheets and data tiles covering Australia. They also include a link to download the map. Available in ESRI Shapefile and GDB.

<div>The 1:250,000 AUSTopo Map Series Index underpins the new 1:250,000 AUSTopo Australian Digital Topographic Map Series (published from 2023). The index drives the online 1:250,000 topographic index dashboard and accompanying web service. Within this index, each of the 516 map sheets that comprehensively cover Australia is presented as an individual tile. The dataset contains value-add attributes, including map title, tile number, the latitude and longitude of the maps sheets, and year/s published. The index also features direct download links to the maps. </div><div><br></div><div>This index exists alongside the previous 1:250,000 map series index, which served as the framework for map editions published between 1995 to 2012. </div><div><br></div><div>Available in ESRI Shapefile and GDB.</div>

The SDE Topographic Product Database (STOPO) contains all the vector data from the previous TOPO250K, TOPO500K, TOPO_1M, TOPO_2_5M, TOPO_5M and TOPO_10M databases. SBAGD is a historic database comprising the GEODATA TOPO 250K Series 3 data and any updates that were made from 2008-2013. This vector data represents major topographic features and has been sourced through many programs such as the National Topographic Information Coordination Initiative (NTICI). The topographic data complies with the Topographic Data and Map Specifications for the National Topographic Database & NTMS Series 1:250 000 & 1:100 000 scale topographic map products version 6.0. To use this dataset please contact the Spatial Platforms team (eGIS), spatialplatforms@ga.gov.au, and obtain an SDE login for use within your selected GIS software.

The SDE Cartographic Database (SCARTO) is a subset of the former SDE Best Available Geographic Database (SBAGD). SCARTO contains only the cartographic feature datasets and feature classes such as annotation, graticules, framework boundaries, map indexes, marine hazard areas and points, physiography and vegetation.
