In May 2009 James Keogh of Christmas Island Phosphates (Phosphate Resources Limited) supplied GA with this first pass dataset. It is a more descriptive version of the data found in pinnaclefields.shp. This new set covers only the Dogs Head area. The data was derived with due regard for existing data i.e. stockpiles, flat mining areas, roads etc where possible. In this dataset the pinnacle fields have been categorised into seven different post mining pinnacle fields based on rock type, pinnacle depth, slope of ground etc: · chalk base · deep hard pinnacles (up to 20m) · deep loose limestone · medium depth hard pinnacles (2-10m) · quarry · shallow loose limestone · shallow soft pinnacle (0-2m)
