Abstract
This resource includes bathymetry data acquired during the HMAS Canberra bathymetry survey (GA-4880). Data was acquired by Deakin University on the 3rd of November 2020 onboard the M/V Yolla using a Kongsberg EM2040c sonar system. The objective of this survey was to map the HMAS Canberra wreck. The HMAS Canberra wreck is in Bass Strait between Port Lonsdale and Barwon Heads, Victoria, Australia. This dataset contains a 0.5 m resolution 32-bit geotiff of the HMAS Canberra shipwreck survey area produced from the processed EM2040c bathymetry data of the survey area using CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. This dataset is not to be used for navigational purposes. This dataset is published with the permission of the CEO, Geoscience Australia.

Lineage
While AusSeabed aims to publish data to the level of adherence based on the requirements stated in the AusSeabed multibeam guidelines (version 1), we will also publish interim products (version 0) that are currently available, but have not yet been standardised (version 1). Users should be aware that V1 products will always supersede V0 products. The data were processed using CARIS 11.3 and the following processing steps were performed. 1. Import into CARIS 2. Post-process POS MV data in POSPAC 8.5 3. Apply SBETS to data in CARIS 4. Georeferenced bathymetry and computed TPU 5. Generated a CUBE surface and filted by the CUBE surface 6. Manually removed any erroneous soundings that were not eliminated using CUBE (e.g., dense sounding clouds around sonar head due to bubbles) 7. At Geoscience Australia, the received geotiff was shifted to EGM2008 using CARIS HIPS and SIPS. 8. The final processed grid was exported as a 32-bit floating point Geotiff at 0.5 m resolution, referenced to EGM2008.
