Geological Field Sites, Samples and Observations WFS
This web service delivers geological observations and sample descriptions from field sites associated with GA's geological mapping surveys in Australia and Antarctica. Descriptions include information on lithology, stratigraphic units, alteration, structural measurements, and many other geological attributes. Where possible this service conforms to the GeoSciML version 4.1 data standard.

This web service is served from an Oracle database using Geoserver. The web service is a near-live feed from Geoscience Australia’s Field Geology Database containing locations and geological descriptions from field mapping surveys. The database has over 700,000 geological observations derived mainly from Geoscience Australia's mapping programs in Australia and Antarctica since the 1960's with additional contributions from universities and State Geological Surveys. Data in the database are updated regularly as new mapping surveys are conducted.
