Abstract
This dataset contains polygons that bound parts of Irvine Hill forest. The polygons were constructed by drawing lines that join points which were pegged out as being boundaries of the Irvine Hill area. The main points were supplied by Whelans. The line joins and polygon making process was done by Geoscience Australia. The shapefile containing the data is: forestedge_irvineh.shp. Lineage
Irvine Hill forest boundaries supplied by Whelans. AGSO then built polygons from the data provided. Details are provided below: For plot3pef.shp the following processes gave closed polygons for the points: Arc: shapearc plot3pef plot3pef Arc: arcedit Arcedit: edit plot3pef arc Arcedit: snapenvironment plot3pef arc plot3pef point add 50 Arcedit: add A line was digitised with vertices approximately on the points. These vertices then snapped to the points automatically. Where vertex order was uncertain the Pointnumber order was followed. The following point numbers were not included in the polygon outlines as they appeared inconsistent with a hardcopy of the polygon outlines: 664 4022 4781 After the polygon outlines had been digitised as arcs, the polygons were built in arcedit: Arcedit: build Arcedit: save In arcview the resultant coverages were merged into the shapefile forestedge_irvineh.shp using the xtools extension Merge / Themes menu choice. In September 2003 this dataset was converted to the MGA(GDA94) projection using an x y shift (550015 = x, 8780001 = y) on the CIG85 projection.
