Lineage
The North Keeling vegetation map was produced in 2011 by ERIN, using a Definiens Ecognition sample based approach on 8 band worldview2 imagery (full spectrum). The Worldview2 imagery was sensed on the 15 June 2010 with a 2m resolution, and a 0.5 panchromatic band. It is assumed that the image was not pansharpened for use in the development of the vegetation map. Transect samples collected from field work undertaken by Jeff Tranter in 2011 were used to cross-check the eCognition analysis and to make manual adjustments. Vegetation was classified in to the following classes; Argusia argentea Brown dry grass/algal mat Caesalpinia species Cocos nucifera Coral rubble Cordia subcordata Hibiscus species Ipomea species Pemphis acidula Pisonia grandis Sand Sedge
