Great Artesian Basin - Geomorphology
This dataset classifies the geomorphological features of the GAB and includes the offshore extents of the GAB beneath the Gulf of Carpentaria. The geomorphological classifications are grouped into the following categories based on depositional environment;
A: Marine
B: Fluvial
C: Aeolian
D: Playa-lacustrine and,
E: Erosional terrain.
This dataset and associated metadata can be obtained from www.ga.gov.au, using catalogue number 81673.

METHOD:
Polygon Extents
Geomorphic polygons were interpreted at 1:1 000 000, on overlay transparencies using data sources listed above. Interpretations were then scanned, georeferenced and digitised into vector format using ESRI ArcGIS software.
This is a regional interpretation for mapping at approximately 1:1 000 000 to produce a broad scale overview, and examination of small areas by collecting extra data is most likely to produce results that differ from this regional interpretation.
QAQC:
Data has undergone a QAQC verification process in order to capture and repair attribute and geometric errors.
SOFTWARE:
All modifications/edits and geoprocessing were performed using ESRI ArcGIS 10 software.
