Ausimage Canberra 2014

Ausimage Canberra 2014 is an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGS) Web Map Service (WMS) of high resolution aerial imagery over Canberra and Queanbeyan, acquired in February and April 2014. It is published in a variety of common projections and is ready for use in corporate GIS and desktop mapping applications.

The Ausimage dataset served by the Ausimage Canberra 2014 WMS is the intellectual property of Jacobs Group (Australia) Pty Ltd. Geoscience Australia provides the Ausimage Canberra 2014 WMS under a licence agreement with Jacobs Group (Australia) Pty Ltd that allows view only access to the Ausimage dataset on Commonwealth Government Web sites. Commonwealth owned agencies may obtain the original, full resolution Ausimage dataset from Geoscience Australia. All other entities may obtain the original, full resolution Ausimage dataset from Jacobs Group (Australia) Pty Ltd.

Description

AUSIMAGE Urban has been specifically designed for use in corporate GIS and desktop mapping applications.The methodology for the production of AUSIMAGE Urban has been designed to provide high resolution images of 10cm and to ensure high spatial accuracy. AUSIMAGE Urban provides maximum visibility of features, with the position of features that lie on the digital terrain model accurate to around 25cm of their true position. This means that coordinates of assets and features can be accurately determined from the images, and that other spatially accurate data sets, such as services and property boundaries, can be reliably overlaid within GIS or CAD software.
