Petrel Sub-basin CO2 Storage Study Data Package
The Petrel Sub-basin CO2 Storage Study data package includes the datasets used for the study located in the Petrel Sub-basin, Bonaparte Basin, offshore Northern Territory. The datasets supports the results of the Geoscience Australia Record 2014/11 and appendices. The study provides an evaluation of the CO2 geological storage potential of the Petrel Sub-basin and was part of the Australian government's National Low Emission Coal Initiative.

This geological data package supports the Geoscience Australia Record 2014/11 and supporting appendices, it includes two ArcGIS packages comprising results from hydrodynamic study, as well as a package comprising palaeogeographic maps, isopach maps, and structural depth surfaces; SKUA-format and ASCII-format seismic horizon surfaces and faults produced in SKUA; Rescue-format 3D-cellular grids populated with well-log derived porosity data; Stratigraphic Reconstruction of Bulk Volatile Chemistry from Fluid Inclusions of Penguin 1, Newby 1, Flat Top 1, and Bougainville 1 wells (.las-format and PDF); Mineral maps from key wells derived from automatic mineral mapping (SEM-EDS analysis); Porosity, grain size and density datasheets from key wells derived from automatic mineral mapping; HyLogger TSG-files and datasheets from Gull 1 and Petrel 1 wells derived from HyLogger analysis (TSG viewer software required); Mercury-injection capillary pressure, porosity, permeability and threshold pressure analyses datasheets from Gull 1 and Petrel 1; Petrel Sub-basin hydrodynamic well data (Microsoft Access Database format).
