Statement

The major airport control tower points were digitized in 2012 from the library of imagery held within Geoscience Australia. Imagery used ranged from 0.15m resolution aerial photos to 2.5m resolution satellite images. This dataset was developed in September 2012.

Primary information sources used to identify and attribute the national airport control towers came from existing Geoscience Australia (GA) spatial data and the following publicly available publications/websites:

Where required these primary information sources were supplemented with online, publicly available information from individual airport, local council websites or interest groups.
