A resistivity model derived from the 2016 - 2024 Queensland AusLAMP dataset

The Australian Lithospheric Architecture Magnetotelluric Project (AusLAMP) is a collaborative national survey that acquires long-period magnetotelluric (MT) data on a half-degree geodetic grid spacing across Australia. This national scale survey aims to map the electrical conductivity/resistivity structures in the crust and upper mantle beneath the Australian continent, which provide additional information about lithospheric architecture and tectonic evolution, as well as valuable pre-competitive data for resource exploration and assessment of geomagnetic storm hazards.

An updated AusLAMP resistivity model for Queensland was produced as part of the Australian Government’s precompetitive geoscience initiative - Resourcing Australia’s Prosperity initiative. This resistivity model was an updated model from previous released model in 2023. The new model incorporated 37 additional sites acquired in 2024 through a collaboration between the Geological Survey of Queensland and Geoscience Australia.

This release includes a preferred 3D resistivity model projected to GDA94 MGA Zone 54 and associated information for this project. The model is in SGrid format and geo-referenced TIFF format.

We acknowledge the traditional landowners, private landholders and national park authorities within the survey region, without whose cooperation these data could not have been collected.
