SI 1011 Mavis Reef (East), Bonaparte Archipelago, (HIPP) Bathymetry Acquisition (20200019S)

The Mavis Reef bathymetry survey was acquired for the Australian Hydrographic Office (AHO) onboard the M/V Warrego during the period 08 January – 09 August 2021. This was a contracted survey conducted by Neptune Marine Services under the HydroScheme Industry Partnership Program (HIPP). The survey area is located east of Mavis Reef, at the southern extent of the Bonaparte Archipelago, offshore northwestern Australia. Bathymetry data were acquired using a R2Sonic 2024 multibeam sonar system and processed using QPS Qimera V2.0.1 and exported to GeoTIFF using CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. This dataset contains a 30m-resolution 32-bit floating point GeoTIFF file of the bathymetry in the survey area. This dataset is not to be used for navigational purposes.

Statement

While AusSeabed aims to publish data based on the requirements stated in the AusSeabed multibeam guidelines (version 1, https://australian-multibeam-guidelines.github.io), we will also publish interim products (version 0) that are currently available, but have not yet been standardised (version 1). Users should be aware that V1 products will always supersede V0 products. <br>

This surface is a 30 metre SDTP derived from IHO Order 1A, 1 and 2 metre CUBE surfaces supplied to the AHO, with depth, position, density and uncertainty preserved from the original surface. Full resolutions surfaces and ancillary data available from AHO on request under restricted licence.<br>

Processing methodology:

1. Processed using QPS Qimera V2.0.1 in accordance with HIPP SOR 2020v 1.2 using CUBE techniques, 1m and 2m CUBE surfaces generated as the final L3 dataset.<br>

3. The final processed grid was exported as a 32-bit floating point Geotiff at 30 m resolution, referenced to LAT (EPSG:5861), ITRF2014

(EPSG:9000).<br>
