Abstract
Whilst there is no data available to constrain the relations for SCR strike-slip faults there is a demand for these relations in the interpretation of scarps from palaeo-earthquakes. Whist the author is not aware of any specific examples; there might also be situations where strike-slip earthquakes need to be incorporated into hazard and/or risk models. We use the observed difference between plate boundary dip-slip and strike-slip faults to estimate SCR strike-slip parameters from the SCR dip-slip parameters. We also give the results for all 10 permutations of of M0, D, L, W and A for all for of dip-slip and strike-slip faults in intra-plate and inter-plate ectonic environments.
