Lineage
The extent of the 2001 release areas have been decided upon by Australian Federal Government Departments (AGSO and ISR) in conjunction with the relevant State Government Departments. The 2001 release areas were originally digitally captured in MicroStation SE (Copyright Bentley Systems Inc.). The latitudes and longitudes of the area polygons were accurately plotted in a design file with a geographic co-ordinate system, using the WSG84 datum. Well information was obtained from AGSO's PEDIN database and accurately plotted in a design file. Pipeline information was obtained from Government and industry sources and plotted in a design file. The coastline used is the AUSLIG 1:10 million coast of Australia and was in design file format. All data was converted to ArcView Shapefile format via the CAD reader extention in ArcView. Relevant data was added to the shapefile database files.
