Abstract
NEXIS is a unique modelling capability designed to compile best publicly available information, statistics, spatial and survey data to create comprehensive and nationally consistent exposure information. NEXIS provides aggregated exposure information for residential, commercial and industrial buildings, and agricultural commodities in Australia. This product is a ABS Statistical Area Level 1 (SA1) aggregated version of NEXIS Building Exposure version 15, 2024. Previous versions may be available on request.

The NEXIS building exposure information is aggregated to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) – Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) Statistical Areas Level 1 (SA1) as defined and maintained by the ABS. <br>Summary of Product Changes for NEXIS Version 15 Source data updates/changes: <br>• Updated Geoscape Australia (formerly PSMA) GNAF – Feb 2024 <br>• Updated Geoscape Australia (formerly PSMA) Cadastre – Feb 2024 <br>• Updated Postcode boundaries to ASGS Non-ABS Structures Postal Areas (POA) – May 2021 <br>• Updated LGA – Jul 2023 <br>• Updated Mesh Blocks, ASGS boundaries - 2021 <br>• Full Social Indicator update from ABS Census 2021, excluding SEIFA (IRSAD) <br>• Updated land use (NT, VIC) <br>• Updated Urban Centre Localities and Wind Regions 2021 <br>• Updated Building Price Index to Mar 2024 <br>• Updated year-built (ACT, NSW, QLD, TAS, VIC) <br>ABS Census data changes include splitting the 4+ storey STRD category into 4-8 storeys, and 9+ storeys. These two categories have been combined into the NEXIS F4 category. Tenure type COOP (TENLLD) has been combined into the RENTED_PUBLIC category as of 2022 due to ABS data changes.
