Abstract
This GSWA Pingaring potassium grid geodetic is an airborne-derived radiometric potassium window countrate grid for the Pingaring, WA,1993 survey. The radiometric, or gamma-ray spectrometric method, measures the natural variations in the gamma-rays detected near the Earth's surface as the result of the natural radioactive decay of potassium (K), uranium (U) and thorium (Th). The data collected are processed via standard methods to ensure the response recorded is that due only to the rocks in the ground. The results produce datasets that can be interpreted to reveal the geological structure of the sub-surface. The processed data is checked for quality by GA geophysicists to ensure that the final data released by GA are fit-for-purpose. This GSWA Pingaring potassium grid geodetic radiometric potassium window countrate grid has a cell size of 0.00083 degrees (approximately 85m). The data are in units of counts per second (cps). The data used to produce this grid was acquired in 1993 by the WA Government, and consisted of 7622 line-kilometres of data at 400m line spacing and 60m terrain clearance.

Lineage
This GSWA Pingaring potassium grid geodetic is an airborne-derived radiometric potassium window countrate grid for the Pingaring, WA,1993 survey. The survey was acquired in 1993 under the project No. 1070 for the geological survey of WA. The data consisted of 7622 line-kilometres of data at 400m line spacing and 60m terrain clearance. The radiometric count rate is contaminated by background radiation contributions from the aircraft, cosmic rays, and the presence of Radon gas escaping from the ground. It is also affected by the ground clearance of the detector, as well as the volume of the detector. This grid was produced after applying radiometric corrections to the potassium window data from the survey. The final grid is checked for quality by GA geophysicists to ensure that the final data released are fit-for-purpose. This GSWA Pingaring potassium grid geodetic has a cell size of 0.00083 degrees (approximately 85m) and shows the potassium window countrate of the Pingaring, WA,1993 survey in units of counts per second (or cps). Noise-adjusted singular value decomposition (NASVD) has been applied to the data. NASVD is a spectral component analysis procedure for the removal of noise from gamma-ray spectra. Details of the specifications of individual airborne surveys can be found in the Fourteenth Edition of the Index of Airborne Geophysical Surveys (Percival, 2014).
