Lineage
This web service depicts the locations of onshore depleted gas fields, underground gas storage facilities and known, thick underground halite deposits, all with the potential for large scale hydrogen storage. The Depleted Gas Fields dataset has been generated using a combination of data provided by State geological surveys and openly sourced information. Only depleted gas fields located across onshore Australia have been included in this dataset. The Underground Gas Storage Facilities dataset has been generated from open source information. The thick halite deposits dataset has been generated using open source information on onshore, underground halite deposits across Australia. It was originally published in “Prospective hydrogen production regions of Australia” http://dx.doi.org/10.11636/Record.2019.015.
