Magnetic repeat station survey of Australia for epoch 1995.0, 1993-1994

Abstract

Fourteen Australian magnetic repeat stations were occupied during1993 and 1994. The secular variation and geomagnetic field data from the repeat stations will be used for the 1995.0 Australian Geomagnetic Reference Field (AGRF) model, and for global magnetic field models. The repeat stations occupied were at Norfolk Island, Lord Howe Island, Maryborough, Hobart, Flinders Island, Parafield, Toolangi,Tibooburra, Gove, Weipa, Mt Isa, Eucla, Carnegie and Derby. The magnetic field was monitored by a three component fluxgate variometer and a total field magnetometer, and the data recorded asone minute means onto a portable computer. The recordings were calibrated to magnetic observatory standard.
