Abstract
Terrex Seismic was contracted by the Australian National Seismic Imaging Resource (ANSIR) to conduct the Department of Minerals and Resources (DMR NSW) Darling Basin 2004 Seismic Survey in New South Wales. Recording commenced on the 15th June 2004 on line DMR04-1 and was completed by the 1st July 2004. The survey operation covered areas north-east and north-west of Ivanhoe, and north of Wilcannia. Three 2D seismic lines, totalling 133.86 kilometres, were surveyed at a 30m station interval. Raw data for this survey are available on request from clientservices@ga.gov.au

Lineage
The Darling Basin occupies a large portion of western New South Wales, ringed in the north by the towns of Broken Hill, Wilcannia and Cobar, and stretching southward to the region of the Murray River. The basin is prospective from petroleum, especially deep dry gas, but no occurrences are known. However, the "Discovery 2000" initiative by the NSWDMR which included the drilling of Kewell East-1 in the Neckarboo Trough sparked some renewed industry interest. The study was carried out by Geoscience Australia (then AGSO) and NSWDMR under the auspices of the "National Geoscience Mapping Accord". The Darling Basin interpretation formed a part of the AGSO "Central Australian Basins Gas Project" (CABGAS).
