Abstract
The demand for Australian mica declined in 1959, and led to an exodus of miners from the Harts Range and Plenty River mica mines. The investigation was undertaken to examine and record the state of the mines at that time, and so provide a basis on which to plan future mining, should market conditions improve. The investigation was carried out during May and June 1960.
