Abstract
Geoscience Australia, the Commonwealth Government's National Geological Survey Agency, in conjunction with the Geological Survey of Queensland and the Geological Survey of New South Wales, will carry out a regional airborne geophysical survey in the Eulo-Hungerford region. The aircraft will fly approximately between Yowah and Wanaaring, as far east as Yantabulla and as far west as Thargomindah. The purpose is to help map the subsurface geology and hydrogeology. An aircraft and trailing receiver like this will be flying at about 100 m above the ground to collect data between March 2014 and June 2014. The information collected from these airborne electromagnetic surveys will help the Australian, Queensland and New South Wales map - the spatial extent of geological features, rocks and faults - the location of groundwater resources, such as fresh or saline aquifers.
